Founder Quote

“I started A Dependable because I wanted to build something of my own while doing work I knew, enjoyed, and believed in. I had a background in construction and sales, and I saw a need for an honest, local contractor homeowners could trust. Our goal has always been to listen, understand the vision, and help people create a home that works better for the way they live.”

Brand Origin Story

A Dependable was formed in August 1997 in Charlotte, NC, with a clear purpose: to give homeowners an honest, knowledgeable, and local contractor they could feel comfortable calling. After the company began in Charlotte, it moved to Monroe a few months later, then settled in Waxhaw in 2004.

Since then, A Dependable has built its name around steady work, clear communication, and practical guidance. The company serves homeowners who are ready to improve their space, add needed square footage, remodel a kitchen or bathroom, or build a custom home with a contractor who understands both the construction process and the personal side of working inside someone’s home.

A Dependable remains rooted in Waxhaw, NC, while serving nearby communities across Union County and parts of South Carolina. The company’s work reflects the values behind the name: be dependable, be honest, know the trade, and help homeowners make smart decisions about their homes.

If they didn’t do some thing right they will make it right. We had a great experience working with them and highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for an honest straightforward contractor.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very professional from start to finish. He made sure the job site was cleaned every day and all debris was deposed of. His prices were honest and fair, surprisingly he had no overages at all on either job he has done for us. If anyone has any remodeling needs or construction needs I would definitely call Mike and his crew at A Dependable.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We are thrilled with the work A Dependable did on our kitchen. We had a complete gut and remodel of our kitchen done by A Dependable. They kept us in the loop the entire time of what was happening and provided recommendations when needed. They are meticulous, finding issues that occur and addressing them quickly. I would 100% recommend them for any project and will be using them again in the future. I have included a before and after to show what a wonderful job they did.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mike, Doug, and the rest of the gang did a great job. From the initial quote to follow-up questions after the job was completed.

We had them put on an addition and extend our back deck. The crew work around our hectic schedule regularly.

I've got nothing but good things to say about these folks.

I now have extra square footage added to my property and an amazing living space. The hardwood floors and finish work looks fantastic and recessed lighting makes the space clean and nice.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We hired A Dependable Home Repair to build an exterior 3-stop elevator shaft. This was a huge undertaking, but every member of the team worked diligently to get it right. They worked with the elevator manufacturer to get the size and support right. They were attentive to detail and very easy to work with. Excellent communication and quality work. We would hire Mike and his team again.
